Absent our two ‘strikers’ Real LA were given the rout by the Inter team functioning at the highest level. high tempo passing and moving reminded everyone that there is little difference between the teams in this division, and while Real (like us) had not won a game this season, we had fierce tussles last season and Real were good for 5 wins across the season – ending up (like us) mid table.

Chris Juhlin got a couple and Gavin, Ivan, Ally and Alex got one each, as it turns out – their mercy goal was a penalty that never was, though Inter boys were reminded that even at 5-0 we can allow the psychology of our opponent to get to us.

We finished with 10 men as Matt was given a straight red, and Ally was carded from the sidelines for pointing out that a handball awarded to Real probably shouldn’t have been (at least I think that’s what he said !).

Nonetheless – red card ignominy aside – the 10 men on the pitch at the end still beat Real 2-1 in the second half and it was a solid performance all round.
