Barely 8 minutes had passed when Nick Espiritu bagged his second Loko goal in as many appearances. His tireless work up top with Sep Foroutani ensured that there was plenty of pressure on the ‘lagos back line, giving them precious little time to breath in the first half of this hairy chested encounter.

Second half saw Silverlagos come out with a little more resolve and for the final 25 minutes of the half they laid siege our goal. A sterling performance by the defensive department (Chris Adam, Roddy Jessup, Dayle Burton and Jon Maghen) supporting ‘keeper Marc Bergman who was outstanding ensured they didn’t get anything out of the game as Loko came away with the points. Grinding it out is sometimes the way it goes, that’s what happened last night.
