The Railwaymen made heavy work of the first period against the chronically disorganized Chileans, adding a bit of tactical disagreement to occasional inter-team battling. Los Andes started with 9 but soon had 14 and though we exploited the short numbers quickly, we equally quickly gave away a couple of goals and went into the break 2-2.
Poor Paolo Cascardo deflected the ball into our net for the second trying to defend where the midfield decided it didn’t need to and the other defenders were otherwise distracted with the swarm of strikers Los Andes suddenly had in our box. Though Chris Reiser kept us in the game throughout, he certainly had the shot covered and kept goal like an absolute nutter, which – of course – all goalies are.
Having decided that Roddy would jail highly technical but overweight 6, that we’d reconfigure the middle around Leigh, and that we’d go with the Benny + Benny attack, with the Nick Espiritu overlap, of course we started to dominate.
Chris Rogers had without doubt the greatest game ever for Loko and Roddy was MOTM, and with Nick Esp’s brace, the amazing Chris Rogers solo effort and Ugly Benny’s (!) addition we won 4-3. Absolutely fantastic second half performance from the lads, totally deserved win.
Chris Adams was laughing in Nashville.

correction: we were down 2-1 at the break, meaning that the second half was that much more impressive.
Yeah you’re right Nick, I was too busy arguing with Benny to pay attention to the score at half-time
Seems that was the right thing to do, in the circumstances – my genius decision to move Roddy in to holding to jail their number 6 and get Benny out of the middle and up top – absolute brilliance on my part LMFAO.
