Dinamo Red Star 3 Familiar FC 1

Match Report – 28 March 2010 – Match Day 10

Dinamo Red Star (Bruns, Rutkin, Campos) | 3 – 1 | Familiar FC

Dust Bowl 2009 reincarnated.  Eleven strong arrived on an unseasonably warm Sunday ready to battle it out on Tren Reznor’s empire of dirt.  I’m not sure if it was the familiar foe (pun intended) or the fact that we dominated on Ferraro last season, regardless we finally began to play with passion.

The game was physical and ugly, but we came out strong from the start and diligently played with the confidence of season’s past.  Welcome Marcus Chorvat.  He worked the left wing and sent in a beautiful cross that David put in for his first goal for Red Star.

Switching positions due to personnel (a.k.a. we only had eleven), Tyler made the most of  his time up top. Rather than coming undone on the crazy dirt and sprinkler head ridden surface, he saw the ball bounce up as he dribbled and decided to go for a volley.  Wouldn’t you know, instead of a swing-and-a-miss the ball arched over the surprised keeper into the back of the net.

Familiar did manage a consolation goal that was more of a knuckle ball due to the field than due to the actually shot, but the defense rarely faced a serious attack.  Welcome back Tony Presedo!  When a shot did come in, he was up for it making a couple of great saves.  Billy decided enough was enough as he pick-pocketed their keeper to score the final goal.  Well done.
